    State courts are responsible for hearing cases involving state law, such as criminal cases, civil cases, and family law matters. Federal courts, on the other hand, are responsible for hearing cases involving federal law, as well as cases in which the United States is a party.

    I know that there are two different jurisdictions in the USA: federal and state. Every from them has its own sphere of adjudication. And every jurisdiction is structured on district and appelate instances. There is the Supreme Court (SCOTUS, SCt) on the top of the judition system of the USA. SCOTUS has the power to adjudicate constitutional issues. and, at the same time, it is the last instance for civil and criminal cases. Only SCOTUS is noticed in the Constitution.
